The National Park "Pripyatsky"

The pristine nature in the valley of the Pripyat River, unique swamps and floodplain oak forests, rich deposits - all this is an amazing land of Polesie, which has no analogues not only in Europe, but also in the world.

In the interfluve of the Pripyat, Stviga and Ubort rivers, there is one of the 4 national parks of Belarus - "Pripyatsky". About 190 thousand hectares of territory are under special protection, and more than a third is occupied by an absolute reserve of wild nature.

A unique geographical, historical and cultural region in the south of Belarus is located in the valley of the middle reaches of the Pripyat.

On the vast areas of the "Belarusian Amazon" natural systems with the richest flora and fauna have been preserved in their original form - vast swamps, wide floodplains, oak forests, broad-leaved forests.

Pripyat Polissya is deservedly called the "lungs of Europe", because here is the largest forest-bog complex of the continent, namely, swamps enrich the air with oxygen best of all.

In the National Park "Pripyatsky" there is a magnificent Museum of Nature, where the landscapes of the Belarusian Polissya with its inhabitants at different times of the year are clearly presented, rich collections of exhibits of large ungulates, insects, reptiles and amphibians, a herbarium of rare plants of Belarus are collected.

The Museum of Nature combines several halls. The introductory exposition is dedicated to the uniqueness of the natural complexes of Polissya, the history of the creation of the park, and the peculiarities of its territory.
